Actress Taapsee Pannu who has acted in several woman-centric movies like Pink and Naam Shabana, Taapsee Pannu opened up about sexual harassment and abuse in film Industry. Recently during the media interaction actress Taapsee Pannu talks about Bollywood sexual harassment, casting couch and abuse in Indian Film Industry. She also opened up Why #MeToo and #TimesUp haven’t come to the Bollywood yet.
Taapsee Pannu said, “Many of the Bollywood actresses who have faced sexual harassment, are not coming forward because they fear being judged and shamed whereas few have already spoken about abuse but did not reveal the name of anyone. The #MeToo Campaign which sparked off a movement in Hollywood is yet to arrive in Bollywood.”
Taapsee Pannu Talks further said “I didn’t face any sexual harassment in this entertainment industry but I am not saying that it doesn’t happen here.” She added, “Few actresses feel that if they will open up about harassment then whatever name and fame they have earned in the film Industry, will be spoiled. and people will also not give any support to them. They will think, this is a cheap way of publicity.”
The Pink actress further said, “While Hollywood actresses are naming and shaming their abusers, here in our Film Industry, the actress has maintained silence on this topic.” Taapsee Pannu added, “Especially for the girls who have no family here. So maybe that insecurity really haunts them and that holds them back.”
