The Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackosn’s 2.0, which is one of the most awaited films in early 2018, has been making strong pre-release business. Recently it was reported that the theatrical rights of the film’s Telugu version have been sold out. The Global Cinemas has bagged the distributions rights Shankar’s 2.0 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for a huge sum.
While the producers have not disclosed the financial details of the deal, a source close to the 2.0 team revealed that the theatrical rights of the Telugu states have sold out for Rs 81 Cr to Global Cinema’s Sunil Narang. It becomes the costliest dubbed film in the annals of Telugu cinema.
The producers are very happy about the kind of interest sci-fi film 2.0 has created in the trade circles. The theatrical rights of film’s Hindi version and satellite rights have been already sold out for a record price. The broadcast rights to 2.0 were bagged by Zee group for the fancy price of Rs 110 crore. It is the highest price ever paid for the satellite rights of a regional film. Unconfirmed reports had suggested that the Hindi theatrical rights of 2.0 have been sold for Rs 80 Cr.
