Actress Nivetha Pethuraj made her Tollywood debt with Mental Madhilo. Nivetha Pethuraj shared the screen space with Sree Vishnu in this romantic entertainer in the direction of Vivek Athreya. The film was produced by Raj Kandukuri (well-known for Pelli Choopulu) under the banner of Dharmapatha Creations. Nivetha Pethuraj posted a video on her social media handle, in which she revealed that she was sexually harassed as a child.
With nationwide outrage over Kathua and Unnao rape victim controversy, the actress Nivetha Pethuraj revealed in the video that there are many problems in the country. While some issues can be controlled, some cannot be. One such problem that we can control is women’s safety. She said, at the age of five, she didn’t know how to address the issue and didn’t even know what anything meant at that age. She added that such incidents happened mainly because of relatives, friends, neighbours etc. She also requested parents to be more responsible and asked them to have the talk at the age of 2.
Nivetha further said, “Why I post this video is because I am sure that a lot of males and females who will watch this video would have been victims of sexual harassment. That includes me too. At five years of age, how do I go tell my parents about what happened? How do I explain? I did not even know what anything meant at the age.

Nivetha Pethuraj requested the parents to take action. She said, “I know it is going to be very uncomfortable. But sit your kids down and teach them. Tell them about what should not be said and things like ‘bad touch’. Star from when they are 2.”
