In upcoming trilingual biopic Mahanati, based on the life of legendary southern actress Savitri, Actress Anushka Shetty who is currently basking in the glory of her recently released movie ‘Bhaagamathie, is going to reprise the role of Bhanumathi.
Bhanumathi Ramakrishna is the first generation heroine of South Cinema. She acted with Chittoor Nagayya as a heroine in her younger days and then, on Bharani Pictures, her husband, director, and producer, Ramakrishna and she made, many movies with Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao as leads.
According to the latest buzz in the film industry, the makers are planning to rope Anushka Shetty for Bhanumathi role. The talk has been initiated but nothing is yet finalized. If Anushka gives nod, she will also be the part of this upcoming directorial venture of Nag Ashwin in which Keerthy Suresh is playing the titular role whereas Samantha Akkineni will be seen playing journalist. Apart from them, the film has other stars like Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Vijay Devarakonda, Dulquer Salman, Shalini Pandey, Vikram Prabhu and others in supporting role.
