The Malayalam actor Kollam Ajith passed away early Thursday morning. The actor breathed his last at 3.40 am. He was undergoing treatment for stomach disease in a private hospital in Kochi. According to reports on regional websites, his mortal remains will be taken to his native place in the morning and the funeral will take place today itself. The time of the funeral hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Kollam Ajith was known for his villain roles in Malayalam movies in the 1990’s. He has acted in more than 500 films in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. He was also seen in several TV serials. He got a chance to make his silver screen debut in noted filmmaker Padmarajan’s Parannu Parannu Parannu that released in 1983.
The actor has even directed a few films. Some of his best-known films are Yuvajanotsavam, Nadodikkattu, No.20 Madras Mail, Nirnayam, Aaraam Thampuran among others.The 2012 film ‘Ivan Ardhanari’ was the last movie he acted in. He is survived by his wife Prameela and children Gayathri and Sreehari.
